A clipper system is targeting our region beginning late Tuesday Afternoon for our Western Counties and late Tuesday Night for our far Eastern Counties, and will be out of here by mid-morning Wednesday for all of us.

Here is the GFS valid Tuesday Night: clippa system
Many of us will receive a period of light snowfall for roughly 3 to 6 hours. We are keeping an eye out whether this clipper redevelops off the coast far south enough to impact our Eastern counties with a bit more snowfall than everyone else. The 12z GFS was really close of doing this. In fact it does to a certain extent, enhancing the snowfall enough that these areas receive an additional 1 to 2 inches of snowfall than everyone else verbatim. Take a look. Valid early Wednesday Morning. close clippa

The low pressure system is all the way near Boston..if this trends just another 100 miles further south, things could get very interesting. Watch how quickly this storm explodes and rapidly deepens as it heads Northward. This would indicate a blizzard for the whole state of Maine. Boston would be right on the cusp. rapid explosion

As for now, the most likely outcome will be for many of us to receive a coating to 2 inches of snow, with possibly 2 to 4 inches of snow for the Eastern Third of Pennsylvania depending if the low pressure decides to prolong the period of snowfall for those areas. Also note that this does not include any Lake Effect snowfall that will take place next week in the snow-belts.

We will have rapid updates over the weekend. As long as everything goes as planned, our first official call will be released Tomorrow Evening.
