As many of you may have heard by now, we are expecting some snowfall Thursday Evening into Friday Morning across the area. Many wondered how, considering on Tuesday it was 60, but the magic of a cold front is upon us. Here is the timing and details.
Snow will move into Western PA late Thursday Afternoon and by mid-evening it will begin to reach many locations throughout Central PA. It will then reach Eastern PA after midnight. The snow will be light to moderate in rate as it falls but with the ground refreezing and the majority of snowfall occurring at night, we do expect deteriorated road conditions Friday Morning.
By mid-morning Friday the snow will begin to exit Western PA, still persisting in Central and Eastern Pennsylvania. Just before noon, snow will begin to move out of Central PA and by mid-afternoon Eastern PA should be done. This will not be a major storm in any way, but as stated it will still impact travel Friday.
Anywhere from <1 – 2″ of snow is likely in many areas across the northern two-thirds of the state with 2-4″ of snowfall in the majority of Southern PA. By next week, this will all be a memory and temperatures in the 60s will start to breakout.
