Scattered thunderstorms ignited today to provide some lucky locations a drenching downpour. Isolated showers and perhaps thunderstorms will roam across our area tonight. If you are upset that you missed out, there are plenty of opportunities in the future! A large upper-level low will move eastward into our region Friday into the weekend. Numerous showers and thunderst0rms will result, with locally heavy rainfall!
A series of solar flares hurled a large ejection of solar particles at Earth, sparking auroras visible from our northernmost states. We we too far south, wrong time of day, and as usual; too cloudy. Enjoy a photo of the aurora imaged by Greg Ash in Ely, Minnesota:
FRIDAY
Friday will be anther very hot and humid day with opportunities for a showers and thunderstorms. The approaching upper-level low will ignite thunderstorms, most likely during the afternoon and into the evening. Not everyone will get one, but for those that do: Enjoy!
SATURDAY
That upper-level low will inspire numerous thunderstorms to ignite, some with heavy rainfall.
SUNDAY
Additional showers and thunderstorms are likely, along with humid conditions.
