We are quickly approaching the Winter months and this week will be a stronger reminder on just how close we are. First, lets take a look at the latest radar imagery:
Today’s Weather Forecast 7/10:
Scattered rain showers, especially north of interstate 80 are possible today. High temperatures will range between the 50s and 60s across the state.
Wednesday’s Weather Forecast: 5/10
Scattered rain showers are possible early Wednesday, becoming more widespread by the evening hours. Temperatures will once again range between the 50s and 60s.
Thursday’s Weather Forecast: 4/10
Thursday’s weather will be quite the change from what we are used to seeing. Temperatures will struggle to escape the 30s for many locations with a mix of rain and snow showers for our interior locations. Southeastern locations will remain in the 40s with isolated rain showers.
Sneak Peak Friday into Saturday:
A strong low pressure is expected to rapidly develop just north of the region Friday, allowing for the potential of widespread rain and snow Friday into the first half of Saturday. While there are plenty of details to be ironed out, many areas will likely see their first snow by the end of this week. Below is a look at the latest GFS model valid for 4:00 PM Friday afternoon:
Any accumulations will be strongly elevation dependent. We will have more details regarding this storm system posted this evening. Stay tuned!
