TIMING & FINAL SNOW AMOUNTS For Major Snowstorm Friday Into Saturday

        We are now about 24 hours from the start of our biggest winter storm in several years across Southcentral and Southeastern PA. Let’s dive right into the timing for this storm.

        By about 5-7 PM snow will cross the Maryland line entering into bordering PA counties. This storm is not likely to come in and produce 3 inches in 2 hours, rather it looks as though the worst of the storm will be during the middle and end of it.

        Snow is not likely to begin in the Harrisburg region as well as the Philadelphia area until between 8-10 PM. By the time 12 AM Saturday arrives, moderate snow will be moving into our southern border counties with the heaviest right near the state line.

        The worst of our winter storm will arrive around 3-5 AM Saturday Morning, lasting through between 3-7 PM and possibly as late as 7-9 PM in Southeastern PA. This means all of Saturday Morning and Afternoon is likely to bring moderate to heavy snow across Southern PA, specifically MD/DE/NJ bordering counties.

        Adding to this heavy snow, wind gusts will reach 30-45 MPH in Southcentral and Southeastern PA. By Saturday Night the system will lift out of the state, leaving behind a thick blanket of snow that will hang around for possibly over two weeks.

        We are extremely confident in that there will be a sharp cutoff line, where regions who are south of the cutoff receive significant snow and areas north of the cutoff receive nearly nothing.
