Arctic air blasted our region this week, with widespread gusts over 30mph, and over 55mph in the higher elevations!  Unfortunately for snow lovers, the potential coastal for this weekend will not materialize, and there currently are no signs of significant snow through next week.  At least we will get some light measureable snow with Saturday morning’s system.

FRIDAY

High pressure will be over our area on Friday, bringing a welcomed reprieve from the relentless wind.  There could be some morning clouds and perhaps a flurry, but sunshine will dominate the skies late morning onward, boosting temperatures several degrees warmer than recent days, with our southern valleys climbing above the freezing mark.

Clouds will increase after sunset as the next system approaches.  Light snow will enter our region from the west after midnight and last into Saturday morning.

SATURDAY

The quick shot of snow will exit our area by late morning, depositing a general 1-2″ across the region.  As that system departs, wind will increase from the northwest during the afternoon and deliver some lake-effect snow showers into our northern counties.

SUNDAY

Breezy conditions will continue through midday, subsiding around sunset.   Ample sunshine will boost temperatures to within a couple degrees of normal for this time of year.
