Heavy rain over the weekend luckily did not result in flooding despite regional rainfall totals for the week reaching into the 2-4” range.

Today’s sunshine generated thermals which mixed down tree-snapping wind gusts exceeding 40-50 mph in the valleys and 55mph in the higher elevations, resulting in widespread power outages. This wind is dying quickly now that the sun has set tonight and the lower atmosphere cools.

The weather the rest of the week will be much more tame, and increasingly warm in a springtime version of the Bermuda High. Showers will arrive Friday.
