As we begin the holiday week, everyone is waking up to the coldest morning of the season so far with temperatures in the teens and single digits! Below is a current look at the latest satellite imagery:

Day 1

Today’s Weather Forecast: 8/10

Despite the cold weather, there will be plenty of sunshine today. Temperatures will generally range in the 20s to near 30 degrees for everywhere except for southwestern Pennsylvania where temperatures will be near 40 degrees.

Christmas Eve Weather Forecast: 7/10

Our next weather maker will deliver a round of snow showers Tuesday morning across the state with temperatures in the 30s. Accumulations will be minimal, however enough to be festive!

Hi-Res NAM Future Radar Valid for 5:00 AM Christmas Eve:

The next storm system will deliver a round of snow showers from west to east Christmas Eve morning. While we anticipate all accumulations to be minimal, a coating to an inch of snow is certainly possible, especially across northern Pennsylvania. Just enough to be put in the Christmas spirit!

If you do have travel plans early Christmas Eve morning, please plan on giving yourself extra time arriving to your destination. The snow shower activity will diminish by the late morning hours.

Christmas Weather Forecast: 9/10

Christmas Day itself will be a near perfect day with temperatures in the 30s and lower 40s. An isolated snow shower or two cannot be ruled out, especially across northwestern Pennsylvania.
