Lake effect snow and rain showers return to the forecast today mainly across northwestern Pennsylvania. Below is a look at the latest radar: 

 

Today’s Weather Forecast: 7/10

Mild temperatures continue for most locations today with temperatures in the upper 40s and lower 50s. A mix of clouds and sunshine is expected with a possible passing shower. The only exception to this forecast will be across northwestern Pennsylvania, where lake effect rain and snow showers will keep temperatures in the upper 30s to near 40 degrees. 

New Year’s Eve Weather Forecast: 5/10

Increasing clouds is expected heading into New Year’s Eve ahead of the next storm system. By Tuesday afternoon and evening, widespread scattered showers will be likely. This will continue right into the early morning hours of New Year’s Day.

Widespread scattered rain showers are expected across the state heading into the second half of New Year’s eve. If you have any outdoor plans to celebrate the New Year, please plan accordingly as the scattered rain showers will persist through the midnight hour on New Year’s Day. 

New Year’s Day Weather Forecast: 6/10

As the storm system pulls off to the northeast, cold air will drag behind it, turning rain showers into snow showers across western Pennsylvania. Winds will be on the increase as well with temperatures generally in the 30s. Do not let the graphic below fool you, the highs that are showing in the 40s to near 50 degrees will be observed at midnight. Temperatures will crash throughout the day.
