Major Lake Effect snow bands will be setting up shop over northwestern Pennsylvania beginning today, especially across Erie and Crawford counties and will last through the weekend. The Laurel Highlands will also experience snow showers capable of producing light accumulations. Elsewhere, a passing snow shower is possible.

The latest HRRR future radar illustrates very well the main band of Lake Effect snow that will setup across northwest Pennsylvania. This band has the potential to produce snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour for several hours. Elsewhere, the snow showers will be light and scattered.
Saturday’s Weather Forecast: 6/10
The coldest day of the season is expected Saturday with high temperatures only in the 20s and 30s. Heavy Lake Effect snow will continue across northwest Pennsylvania. Elsewhere, mostly sunny skies can be expected.
Sunday’s Weather Forecast: 6/10
Sunday’s weather will be identical to Saturday’s forecast. More heavy snow is expected across northwest Pennsylvania, meanwhile a mix of clouds and sunshine can be expected elsewhere.
