What a turnaround from just one week ago! Last Saturday, some people in Eastern PA woke up to snow falling with multiple inches of snow having fallen. And now, some of the same areas are near 80 degrees.
Welcome to April in Pennsylvania, albeit what happened last weekend was pretty rare! With the warmer temperatures and longer days, trees are blooming and tree pollen is rocketing upward! Us allergy sufferers are now in the thick of it until late May!
In my opinion, the upcoming week will be a top 5 week of the year in terms of weather. Many days around 70 degrees and mainly dry. Good for the mind and mood for sure, after what was the coldest winter in several years.

Rainfall totals over the next 48 hours will light, and focused in Northern PA where some heavy rain and thunderstorms will occur today, and another round on Monday.
The farther south and east you go, the less rain. Some areas may not pick up anything in Southeast PA.

Major Sporting Event Forecasts
Philadelphia Phillies vs. Miami Marlins ⚾: 1:35 PM Sunday 4/20 in Philadelphia
It looks like another great day for baseball in South Philly! Temperatures will be 66-67° to start the game, and around 69-70° by the 9th inning.
High clouds will make for faded sunshine, with a light northerly wind around 10mph.
Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Cleveland Guardians ⚾: 1:35 PM Sunday 4/20 in Pittsburgh
Better weather in Pittsburgh for Sunday’s game, with just some mid to high level clouds. Dry conditions will prevail, with a northeast wind of 5-10mph.
Temperatures will begin the game around 63-64°, rising to around 67° by the later innings.
The Lehigh Valley IronPigs and Scranton/W-B RailRiders are off on Sunday.
Philadelphia Metro Weather Forecast
After a very warm to borderline hot Saturday, temperatures will drop Sunday and especially by Monday thanks to a weak cold front. A very isolated shower is possible Monday night into Tuesday morning, but that’s about it.
The rest of the workweek looks dry with high temperatures reaching the low to mid 70s! Fantastic if you ask me!

Pittsburgh Area Weather Forecast
Easter Sunday looks dry and a bit cooler with temperatures in the 60s. A spotty shower or thunderstorm is possible early Monday morning, followed by a lull before scattered showers and storms are likely late Monday afternoon into the evening.
After that pushes out, the remainder of the workweek looks dry with highs well into the 70s!

Lower Susquehanna Valley Weather Forecast
After Saturday’s June preview, we will return to sanity with temperatures in the 60s for Easter Sunday and into Monday as well.
After a dry Sunday, a very isolated shower is possible late Monday morning, and then a few showers are possible in the valley Monday evening.
That’s the extent of the rain talks for now, with the rest of the weekdays being dry with highs in the 70s!

Lehigh Valley Weather Forecast
Following a glimpse of early June on Saturday, temperatures will cool off for Easter Sunday with only some high clouds and dry conditions!
A couple of showers may roam the area around lunchtime Monday, and then again very late Monday evening into early Tuesday morning. The showers won’t amount to much in terms of rainfall amounts, and the rest of the workweek looks dry and unseasonably warm!

Northeast PA Weather Forecast
After a hot Saturday in NEPA with temperatures in the upper 70s across the Pocono Plateau to the upper 80s in Williamsport, a cold front will return us to normality at least temporarily on Easter Sunday.
Partly sunny skies are likely on Sunday, with some spotty showers and storms on Monday. Other than that, partly sunny skies and highs on either side of 70 degrees!

State College-Altoona-Bedford Weather Forecast
After a toasty Saturday with temperatures in the low 80s, we will return closer to average on Sunday and Monday. Easter Sunday looks pleasant with highs in the mid to upper 60s under mostly sunny skies.
Hit-or-miss showers and storms are likely on Monday, especially in the evening. There’s isn’t a concern for anything severe. The rest of the workweek looks really nice with mixed clouds and sun and high temperatures on either side of 70.

Erie Area Weather Forecast
After a warm start to Saturday, showers and storms brought temperatures back in the 60s. Highs will be much, much cooler Sunday due to the northerly breeze coming off Lake Erie. However Easter will be dry!
Temperatures in Erie and lakeshore towns are so dependent on wind direction this time of year, which is responsible for the swinging high temperatures throughout the coming week. Areas away from the lake will be a bit warmer.
Showers and storms will blow through on Monday, with the remaining weekdays being mainly dry.

Going Forward…
We will be adding wind speed and gust graphics, UV forecasts, and more in the coming weeks. They will likely be on a different page, as we don’t want to make this article extremely long.
Next Friday and Saturday are looking unsettled, with the potential for widespread rain and storms. Some areas of the state continue to be in a severe drought while others aren’t in any drought!
