Pennsylvania Fall Foliage Report #4: October 15th – 21st, 2020; Many Regions Peaking Now

This will be the best weekend of Fall 2020 to get out and enjoy the peak foliage in much of the state. Mostly sunny skies and cool temperatures are expected Saturday and Sunday, so there’s no time like the present!

Colors across the northern tier continue to fade as peak color continues to drop south and into lower elevations. Only southeast PA and the Lower Susquehanna Valley have yet to peak, but from western PA to the southcentral mountains and ridges and up to the Poconos, peak color will be on display this week.

PA FALL FOLIAGE REPORT WEEK #4 OCT 15-21, 2020

Area A: This region is still seeing nice color, but is foliage is fading and significant leaf drop has occurred. About 95% of tree species have changed color.

Area B: This region is seeing best color now, and about 80% of tree species have changed color. Peak color is this week in this area.

Area C: This region is approaching best color, and about 50% of tree species have changed color. Peak color is in approximately one week in this area.

Area D: This region is starting to see some changes in color, and about 25% of tree species have changed color. Peak color is approximately two to three weeks away in this area.
