Winter officially begins today when the Winter Solstice occurs at 10:27pm this evening (Thursday, 12/21). Temperatures will be on the rise this weekend bring unseasonable highs.
Friday
Partly sunny conditions. Highs will range from the high to low 40s throughout the region. A calm wind will be out of the southeast ranging between 5-7 mph. Lows will be in the mid to low 30s.
Saturday
A persistent chance for rain will be possible on Saturday and may extend into Sunday, mixed precipitation could be seen in the higher elevations in the early morning hours. Highs will range in low 50s to mid 40s. Winds will be out of the south at 5-10 mph. Lows will be in the low 40s to mid 30s.
Sunday
A slight chance for rain may continue in the morning hours, but mostly cloudy conditions will be expected throughout the region. Highs will be in the low 50s to mid 40s. Lows will be in the high to mid 30s.
Given the increase in temperature there is close to a zero percent chance for a white Christmas for the region. The entire PA Weather Action team wishes everyone a Happy Holidays.
