A weak moisture-starved disturbance will deliver light rain and snow to our area late tonight.  There could be a coating of snow in the higher elevations, but the valleys should remain slightly too warm for accumulation.
Phil should fail to see his shadow Friday morning as clouds will cover the entire state tonight through Friday night.  There could be a few lingering rain and snow showers in our area, mainly during the morning.    After this system’s precipitation, we will experience a well-deserved period of dry weather through much of next week with temperatures averaging around 5 F warmer than normal (normal for Scranton is a high of 24 and a low of 16).   Unfortunately, winter will continue to be on extended hiatus, with almost no opportunity for a snowstorm through the middle of February.
