Mother Nature is delivering a one-two punch the next couple of days! First, snow arrives later today for southern Pennsylvania, then a wintry mix will impact the whole state later Wednesday into early Thursday. Below is a look at the current radar:

Today’s Weather Forecast: 4/10

Increasing clouds today will lead to snow developing in the afternoon across the southern tier counties. The snow will continue throughout the nighttime hours. The areas that have the best chance to see more than a couple inches of snow will be south of the turnpike.

Hi-Res NAM Future Radar Valid 9:00 AM Today Through 6:00 AM Wednesday:

Below is a look at the latest Hi-Res NAM Future Radar illustrating the heavier snows occurring south of the turnpike today into early tomorrow morning. The snow will gradually taper off the closer you are to interstate 80.

If you have any travel plans this evening across southern Pennsylvania, please plan accordingly as many backroads will be snow covered.

Wednesday’s Weather Forecast: 4/10

Early morning snow across southern Pennsylvania will taper off by daybreak. Clouds will then increase ahead of the next winter storm system that will deliver another round of snow, sleet, freezing rain and rain to the area Wednesday afternoon into early Thursday morning.

Hi-Res NAM Future Radar Valid 10:00 AM Wednesday Through 7:00 AM Thursday:

The second storm system will deliver a wintry mix to the state. Northeast Pennsylvania has the best chance to remain all snow, while many of us will see a transition from snow to sleet to freezing rain to eventually plain rainfall.

We do expect snowfall accumulations to remain on the light side. However, there will be enough slushy accumulations to cause a disruption in travel Wednesday afternoon and evening.

Thursday’s Weather Forecast: 6/10

Early morning sleet and/or rain showers will end by lunchtime. Temperatures will climb into the upper 30s and 40s by the afternoon hours.
