No doubt about it, yesterday was the perfect day to be outside. Today, the nice weather comes with a threat of strong to severe thunderstorms as our next disturbance passes through the area. Looking at our satellite imagery this morning, many of us are awakening to calm and clear conditions:
Today’s Weather Forecast: 8/10
Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms are expected today. Thanks to the storms being scattered in nature, many areas will remain dry and have another beautiful day on tap. Western areas have the best potential to be impacted by these thunderstorms.
Thursday’s Weather Forecast: 8/10
While the severe weather threat is not as elevated on Thursday, showers and storms are possible especially across the southern and eastern counties. Outside of those showers and storms, plenty of more sunshine will be on the table for your Thursday.
Hi-Res NAM Future Radar Through Early Friday Morning:
Taking a look at the Hi-Res NAM future radar, we can see the strong to severe thunderstorms on full display, especially as we enter the afternoon and evening hours today. There will be a break during the first half of the day tomorrow before another round of showers and thunderstorms impact the area later Thursday. The timestamp is in the top left of the graphic below.
Friday’s Weather Forecast: 8/10
Friday’s forecast will feature a mix of clouds and sunshine out ahead of our next storm system that will arrive just in time for the weekend. A pop-up shower or thunderstorm cannot be ruled out.
Memorial Day Weekend Update:
Another storm system looks to bring rain showers to the region this weekend. While it does not appear to be heavy rain, it will still be enough to put a damper on outdoor activities. Of the three days in the Saturday-Monday time period, Sunday has the best chance to be dry area wide. More updates will be provided as we inch closer to the weekend!
