Severe Weather Outbreak to Impact Pennsylvania this Weekend

Severe weather is expected to impact the state of Pennsylvania both Saturday and Sunday this weekend. The Storm Prediction Center has placed most of us under a SLIGHT RISK for severe weather both days.

For Saturday, the primary threat will arrive in the afternoon hours and will carry over into the early morning hours of Sunday. The Storm Prediction Center has stated in their outlook that the main impacts from these storms will be damaging winds in excess of 60 MPH and large hail. Dynamics will be in place Saturday for the potential of  isolated tornadoes.

BELOW IS THE STORM PREDICTION CENTER’S FORECAST FOR SATURDAY:

AREA A – The greatest risk for severe weather. This area has been placed under a SLIGHT RISK for severe weather. The SPC has mentioned of a possible upgrade for this area. Main impacts will include damaging winds in excess of 60 MPH, large hail, and isolated tornadoes.

AREA B – The SPC has placed this area under a marginal risk for severe weather. Main impacts will include damaging winds in excess of 60 mph and large hail.

AREA C – Thunderstorms are possible, however will remain under severe criteria.

 

Another round of severe weather is expected Sunday. Once again the main threat for severe weather will occur later in the day, this time likely after 5 PM.
