Greetings!

I hope everyone was able to spend some quality time with this week’s spectacular Autumn weather!  If not, you have one more chance tomorrow (Friday) before our usual chilly weekend soaking arrives.

A storm system approaching from the southern Great Lakes will spread rain into our area early on Saturday.   That system will induce a coastal low which will maintain wet conditions into Sunday morning.  While that coastal will pass well to our east on Sunday, an upper-level low will linger over Pennsylvania through the middle of next week and pester us with unsettled conditions through Wednesday.  At this time, it looks like it will only generate scattered showers, and not a soaking rain.   Dry weather will return for the latter part of next week before another system threatens to plague us with another chance for a weekend soaking on October 21-22.

FRIDAY

Friday will bring one final day of beautiful dry and mostly sunny weather to our area with seasonal temperatures.  If possible, be sure to spend some quality time with the Fall foliage!

SATURDAY

A system approaching from the southern Great Lakes will spread rain into our area during the morning hours.  The heaviest rainfall will be in a band stretching from Northwest PA into Southeast PA, with our area receiving generally between a half inch and an inch of precipitation, with the heaviest amounts in Luzerne, Schuylkill, and Carbon counties, and the lightest amounts in Wayne and northern Pike counties.  Along with the damp conditions, temperatures will be quite cool with highs remaining in the 40s in the higher elevations, and barely into the 50s in the valleys.  Enjoy!

SUNDAY

The steady soaking rain should end by morning, but the opportunity for scattered showers will persist throughout the day although at this time amounts look to be light.
